It all comes down to a few simple habits.

1. The Beauty of 100 GSM Linen — And Why It Needs a Gentle Touch

There is something special about very lightweight linen.

At just 100 gsm, the fabric is wonderfully light and airy. It feels soft against the skin, breathes beautifully and creates that effortless, almost weightless feeling that makes lightweight linen so enjoyable to wear and use.

But its greatest quality is also what makes it more sensitive.

Because there is less fabric and a lighter weave, 100 gsm linen is naturally more delicate than heavier linen. Rough washing, excessive friction, high temperatures and heavy fabrics rubbing against it can put unnecessary stress on the fibres.

This doesn't mean lightweight linen is difficult to care for.

It simply means gentle is better.

Think of it as a little respect for the fabric. Treat it well, and it will continue to give you everything you love about linen — its softness, breathability, natural texture and timeless beauty.

2. Before the Wash: A Little Preparation Goes a Long Way

If you prefer a more polished finish, iron the fabric while it is still slightly damp, using the appropriate temperature for linen.

Pressed or naturally rumpled, linen is still linen.

5. Fringed Linen: The Little Details Deserve a Little Extra Love

There is something wonderfully tactile about fringed linen.

Those loose threads around the edge of a napkin, runner or tablecloth add movement, texture and a beautifully relaxed, handcrafted feeling to the table.

But they also have a tendency to make themselves known in the washing machine.

During washing, the loose threads can twist around one another, become tangled or form small knots. This is completely natural — but fortunately, it is also easy to minimise.

Our favourite tip?

Put fringed linen in a laundry bag before washing.

It is one of the simplest things you can do to protect the fringe.

The bag helps reduce friction and keeps the loose threads more contained throughout the washing cycle.

For the best results:

• Don't overfill the laundry bag.
• Give the linen enough room to move.
• Wash it with lightweight textiles rather than heavy towels or jeans.
• Choose a gentle cycle.
• Avoid very high spin speeds.
• Remove the linen from the machine as soon as the cycle ends.

The less unnecessary rubbing and twisting the fringe experiences, the better it will look afterwards.

6. The Fringe Ritual: How to Keep It Beautiful Wash After Wash

Once your fringed linen comes out of the washing machine, don't worry if the fringe looks a little different.

1. Take it out immediately.
